Welcome to the 2019 Design Awards!
The 2019 Design Awards Gala was held on May 4th, 2019 at the Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum. Out of 27 projects entered, 12 were granted awards based on their own merit and how well they solved the problem(s) addressed. The design Awards were given in three degrees:
Honor, Merit, and Citation. Honor Awards, the top honor, were granted to built projects for overall design excellence. Merit Awards were granted to built projects worthy of recognition because of their design quality. Citation Awards were granted at the discretion of the jury. Additional awards given to individuals were the Friend of Architecture Award, Gold Medal Award, Presidential Citation, and AIA Fellowship.
