The AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) was founded in 1990 growing from a series of conversations and events that date back nearly two decades before that. Today, COTE celebrates a robust definition of sustainability that frames the process of sustainable design as one that includes the full range of human settlement and ecological issues. Nationally there are over 50 local COTE chapters, and this year AIA ETN will be establishing their own COTE Chapter officially. The goal of the AIA ETN COTE is to foster a collective education of and progress towards climate action in our profession; coupling design excellence and an aspirational environmental agenda for all we do in our region.

 Our first step in this effort will be to achieve representation from each of the firms and partners that make up our AIA ETN Chapter and hold our first meeting from 12pm-1-pm on May 25, 2023 at the office of MHM (with Zoom attendance optional). If you are interested and would like to attend, please contact Cameron Bolin, AIA @ [email protected].
