2021 Co-ed Summer Volleyball League
Who: Architects, Engineers, and other ‘industry’ professionals
Where: Cherokee Farm, 2704 Cherokee Farm Way
When: Tuesday evenings starting June 1 through August 3, with the League Tournament Saturday, August 7
The AIA East Tennessee Summer Volleyball League is a co-ed league and the participants are limited to official members of one’s firm and/or ‘significant others’ – husband, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, etc. Please no recruiting from UT club teams or Knoxville city leagues! If there are no females in your office or significant others that want to play, you may field a team with five males. Six or seven participants may be fielded, but a minimum of one female must be on the court at all times. For additional guidelines, see league rules here.
If you are interested in playing this year but don’t have enough people for a full team, don’t be left out! Contact Eric Bowen – an ‘At Large’ team will be organized as necessary.
Registration Deadline: Tuesday, May 25
Captains’ Meeting: Tuesday, May 25 at 6:00 pm at Cherokee Farm
First Match: Tuesday, June 1 at 6:00 pm
Final Match: Tuesday, August 3 at 6:00 pm
Tournament: Saturday, August 7 at 9:00 am (No Rain Delay)
Each team will be required to submit the ‘League Entry Form’ attached. The submitted forms will be reviewed by the Captain’s Committee for approval to participate in the league for the season.
THREE release forms are required of EACH player—one for AIA East Tennessee, one for the University of Tennessee, and a COVID Waiver. These are located below.
PLEASE RETURN EACH SIGNATURE PAGE OF THE RELEASES/WAIVERS IN SEPARATE FILES AS EACH IS STORED IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION.
Nets and volleyballs are available at any time prior to the season start or during the season for team use. The fields at Cherokee Farm will only be available for league match nights, so suitable practice locations will be the responsibility of the teams.
Submit payment electronically at the end of the submission form or bring a check (payable to AIA East Tennessee with “Volleyball League” in the memo section) to the Captain’s Meeting. The league schedule will be developed in the week between the Captain’s Meeting and the first match and will be distributed to team captains.
If you are not able to attend the Captains’ Meeting please send an email to Eric Bowen so our esteemed Swami will know the number of nets needed this year. Contact the same email with any additional questions.
