Purpose
In conjunction with AIA’s Framework for Design Excellence, we work with all committees of the Chapter to guide all practices in considering their impacts on our environment, particularly the built environment. Design thinking is problem solving, and architects will be at the forefront of addressing the issues of climate change, locally and globally.

Monthly Meetings
This committee currently meets monthly in person at various locations, and always on Zoom unless otherwise noted (such as for building tours). Annual Regional Resilience Roundtable

For two years in a row, the COTE has hosted a ‘Regional Resilience Roundtable’ in the Tri-Cities to help inform people on ways to better plan for a resilient future and the role architects play in that process. Our last Roundtable was on May 17th, 2025. Planning for 2026 is currently taking place. Once those details are confirmed, they will be shared here.
