2014 Design Awards Gala and Online Voting Announcement

East Tennessee’s Best Architecture to Be Recognized at Design Awards Gala
Online Voting Opens October 14 for People’s Choice Awards

KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE — You get to decide! For the first time ever this year’s AIA East Tennessee People’s Choice Award will be chosen entirely through an online public vote. Go online at AIAETN.org to make your selection for the best new architecture in the region. The poll opens on October 14th and runs through 6pm on October 28th.

The East Tennessee Chapter of the American Institute of Architects will gather for the 2014 Design Awards Gala on October 28th at the Southern Depot to celebrate architecture and recognize the excellent work of its members. The evening will recognize individual accomplishments including honors for newly licensed architects and recognitions for significant contributions to architecture and the community. Specific works of architecture designed by members of the East Tennessee chapter of the AIA will be honored with Design Awards.

Design Awards for Excellence in Architecture are selected each year by a jury of nationally recognized architects and designers and are given in the categories of new construction, renovation, interior architecture, emerging professionals, and unbuilt projects. This year’s Jury was led by Elizabeth Gray, FAIA, a founding principal and partner of Gray Organschi Architecture in New Haven, Connecticut. Ms. Gray will be in attendance to present the awards.

This awards event and the after-party is being sponsored by Pella Southeast with the bar and refreshments for the reception being sponsored by Cambria and Smokey Mountain Tops.
