DESCRIPTION:Join AIA East Tennessee for an exciting joint event on June 27th at Ebony and Ivory Brewing for some Hard Knox Pizza and delicious beverages! (NA options will be available) We will begin with the inaugural AIA East Tennessee | HOUSING ETN – 2024 ADU Design Competition overview and information session for interested design teams. We will discuss the efficacy of accessory dwelling units in providing equitable and attainable housing options in East Tennessee and review this year’s design competition requirements and guidelines. Immediately following\, we will welcome virtual attendance from Scott Moore y Medina of DIAK Architects as he presents on Design For Equitable Communities as a part of the 2024 guest series of the AIA East Tennessee’s Committee on the Environment. \n\n\n\nPlease come support our local businesses and be a part of the mission of AIA East Tennessee in developing the cities\, communities\, and built environment of the 21st Century.

If you are unable to attend in person\, please get in touch with Cameron Bolin to join us via ZOOM!  \nPete’s Bio: Pete is a Senior Engineer and Practice Lead at Biohabitats (2023 ASLA Landscape Architecture Firm Award recipient). Based in the Cascadia Bioregion office in Portland\, Oregon\, Pete works around the globe\, helping to implement nature-based solutions that promote healthy communities\, resilient infrastructure\, and ecological complexity. Pete is a licensed engineer in 17 states and has helped connect communities through appropriate ecological systems and dynamic water infrastructure\, including projects with wastewater treatment\, stormwater management\, rain harvesting\, water reuse\, environmental remediation\, and watershed restoration. \n_______________________________________________________ \nAIA East Tennessee Committee on the Environment (COTE®) is a committee for working architects\, allied professionals\, and the public to achieve climate action and climate justice through design.
