DONT MISS YOUR CHANCE AT THE KMA!
Looking for something different to do this holiday season? Maybe you have visitors or children in the house and you would like to recommend something that they might like to do during days off school? How about a trip to the Knoxville Museum of Art!
Running through January 9th the KMA is featuring artwork created by East Tennessee middle and high school students. As a part of The Fifth Annual East Tennessee Regional Student Art Exhibition, a competition is open to students in grades 6-12, attending public, private, or home schools in East Tennessee; this is a display of regional young talent in a professional art museum environment. Supporting young design minds is one of the goals of the AIA East Tennessee as well so we were honored to be asked to showcase the new Go to 2033 architectural and planning tool for middle school students alongside this great show. So when you’re at the KMA over the next few weeks be sure to stop by the community gallery to see some of the new ways design professionals can volunteer with the schools to raise awareness of architecture, landscape architecture and urban design among the next generation.
The KMA is open Tuesday – Thursday & Saturdays 10-5pm, Fridays 10-8pm and Sundays 1-5 pm except Christmas Eve/Day and New Year’s Eve/Day Admission to the KMA is free as a gift to the community but donations are always appreciated! |
